After being cooped up for months. Many feel the need to get away this summer. Make sure you do so safely.

Lesson 1 – Travel by Car

Since it appears spending extended periods of time indoors with others puts you most at risk for contracting the novel coronavirus. Car travel is preferable for the current circumstances versus air travel.

Lesson 2 – There are Still Risks with Car Travel

If you are traveling for an extended distance and need to stop. Be careful in public restrooms and try to minimize time spent in indoor places like rest stops.

Remember to always wash or sanitize your hands before leaving a rest stop and returning to your car.

If air travel is unavoidable.  Take steps to protect yourself.

Lesson 3 – Choose a window seat if possible.

Least amount of contact with others.

Lesson 4 – Wear a Mask throughout the flight

Lesson 5 – Carry wipes to disinfect your hands and surfaces you come in contact with.

Disinfect the surfaces around your seat when you sit down:

  • Head
  • Arm rest
  • Seat belt buckle
  • Screen
  • Seat back pocket
  • Tray table.

If the seat is leather. Wipe it down too.

Lesson 6 –  While air travel spreads viruses. Cabinets in airplanes appear relatively safe.
